Practical Neuroscience & Meditation
for everyday life
What to expect
I regularly send hand-written mails that aim at the intersection of neuroscience, mindfulness, and modern life. These short texts merge the objectivity of science with the subjectivity of our human experience. This results in grounded insights to help you regulate your nervous system, sharpen your focus, and thrive as a human in the age of AI.
01
Regulating your nervous system
Learnable tools like meditation, breathing techniques and HRV training have been shown in scientific studies to be effective at reducing stress, anxiety or depression. Still, we need to find out what works best for you. Don't expect shortcuts. Developing a repertoire of such tools is more like learning a language - quite a journey but highly rewarding.
02
Mindfulness
I could write an entire essay on why I think developing a strong awareness of your mind - your subjective experience - is amongst the most important aspects in your life. But in my newsletter I will keep it short and provide you with little reminders and small insights on that topic. From time to time you might need to remind me to keep it concise and stop philosophizing on this topic. For me mindfulness has more to do with training our senses, training attention and improving our cognition than spirituality.
03
Thrive with modern tech & AI
It's often said that our world is changing quicker than it has ever before. This might be because AI algorithms of google, meta and tiktok compete for our human attention while molding our desires and habits, including how we spend our precious time. This has lead to a wave of overwhelm, distraction, and addiction. I firmly believe that with the specific strategies and decision I will discuss in my newsletter, we can flip the script: It is not easy but we can use tech & AI to reduce harm, reclaim our time, and use tech to support our health and well-being instead of eroding them.
